Refrigeration Design Services
Of particular emphasis is our very strong and highly regarded refrigeration design capabilities encompassing the most up-to-date and effective solutions being applied both domestically and in the international arena.
A typical Energy Squared Energy Audit shows the client how to reduce their current energy usage and realize substantial savings. Starting with an analysis of the utility bills, Energy Squared will evaluate the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, as well as the building envelope. This includes, but is not limited to, boilers, chillers, HVAC, lighting, controls and major water consuming devices. In most cases, Energy Squared will recommend changes or upgrades that will reduce energy consumption/cost. Energy Squared is a partner with the State of New Jersey in the New Jersey Clean Energy Pay for Performance Program. We have performed the largest number of projects for the State and, in fact, are a bigger provider of services for the State than the next two largest partners combined.
Building Modeling & Simulation
Energy Squared Building Modeling and Simulation is the process of creating a digital version of a building to calculate future energy consumption and costs on an hourly, daily and annualized basis. The simulation allows Energy Squared to play “what if” scenarios on the building to precisely determine which measures will decrease energy consumption the most while maximizing the client’s return on investment. Simulations are required for LEED certification as well as many federal and state rebate programs.
Energy Squared Commissioning is the process of reviewing a building during and after the construction process to evaluate whether the mechanical, electrical and control systems are installed, programmed and operating in general conformance with their plans and specifications, which detail how to obtain optimal performance. For existing buildings, re-commissioning serves as a check and balance system, to re-evaluate the existing system and optimize its operations. Through commissioning, Energy Squared can assist clients in obtaining the full value of their investments.
Renewable Energy Services
Energy Squared will assess all necessary factors to evaluate whether or not an alternative energy source, such as solar, wind or geothermal, is a feasible and economical solution for the property. In some cases, federal and state rebates make alternative energy a viable option, cutting payback to less than 5 years. Cogeneration, otherwise known as combined heat and power (CHP), is another sustainable and cost-effective option that Energy Squared may recommend. When preparing the design specification, Energy Squared will evaluate the project’s installation cost, state/federal rebates, and anticipated energy savings to maximize the client’s return on investment.
Control Systems Design
Energy Squared will design new or optimize existing control systems to maximize efficiency and reduce operating costs for all energy dependent systems. In addition, our designs can allow for remote monitoring which helps to maintain the system’s optimal settings, extend the equipment’s life expectancy, predict maintenance and reduce overall maintenance costs. Energy Squared can design everything from simple occupancy controls to complete building management systems (BMS).
Rebate and Incentive Expediting
Energy Squared will research, complete and file all applicable rebate and incentive applications as well as their supporting documentation to help clients redeem the financial benefits of their energy efficient building upgrades. LEED Building Services
The LEED Accredited Professionals at Energy Squared will design and certify residential or commercial buildings for the LEED Green Building Rating System.
