Kipcon’s Legislative Actions in 2021
A little over a year ago, Champlain Towers South condominium in Surfside, FL, collapsed resulting in the deaths of 98 people. A multitude of investigations revealed that construction defects, long-term water infiltration, and years of deferred maintenance may have contributed to the sudden and fatal collapse.
In response to the tragedy, Kipcon has been involved nationally in the development of the CAI Public Policies on Maintenance and Building Inspections, as well as Reserve Studies and Funding. Mitch Frumkin, President of Kipcon, recently gave a webinar on the importance of Reserve Studies, Structural Inspections, and Banking Inspection Requirements.
